PURPOSE: A navigation method and apparatus for a mobile terminal are provided to automatically take images and create guide information about a new road that is not recorded in a map database. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(404) stores map data. A display unit(405) displays a route from the current position to the destination location on the map data. A control unit(407) stores real-time trajectory information of a vehicle when the vehicle deviates from the route, assigns a weighted value to a link corresponding to the trajectory information, and stores the trajectory information corresponding to the link assigned with the weighted value as a preference route.
