In a method of making a plain bearing, white metal for the lining is first worked by rolling and/or pressing and is then rolled on to the base material after this has been heated to 220‹ to 380‹ C. The worked white metal is either cold or heated to not more than 100‹ C. for roll bonding. The base material is preferably tinned steel and the bearing may have the form of a half shell or of an undivided bush. |
