A radial compressor apparatus (1500) for compressing a gas comprises: a housing (1510) including a removable access panel (1512) on each of two opposite sides of the housing (1510) to provide access for assembly and maintenance; at least three cylinder casings (1514) coupled to the housing in an equally-spaced radial array, and at least two ports (1520, 1530) at an outside terminal end of each of the at least three cylinder casings (1514); at least three piston assemblies (1568), each being configured respectively within one of the at least three cylinder casings (1520) and wherein each piston assembly is coupled to a drive push rod (1560, 1570); a compressor drive axle (1540) positioned within the housing (1510) and configured to extend outside the housing (1510) through one of the access panels (1512); and an offset cam (1548) connected to the compressor drive axle (1540) and having a pivoting drive push rod axle connected to each of the push rods (1560, 1570); wherein the compressor drive axle (1540) is configured to rotate about a center of rotation from power transferred from a rotational power source, and the offset cam (1548) is configured to transfer asymmetrical rotation to the drive push rods (1560, 1570) to drive the at least three piston assemblies (1568) to compress the gas. |
