PURPOSE: A detachable and retrievable embolic protection device and a filter assembly composing the same are provided to insert a guide wire protecting the embolus into the human body. CONSTITUTION: A detachable and retrievable embolic protection device comprises: a guide wire(10) inserted into the blood vessel; a sheath(18) into which the guide wire is inserted; and a filter assembly(30) which is detachably combined with the front end of the guide wire and is expanded and shrunk by the sheath. Into the blood vessel, the guide wire for the insertion and collection of the filter assembly is inserted.
