<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly fix a weight member to a head main body with a good productivity. <P>SOLUTION: This golf club head includes a head main body made of a metal material, and the weight member 9 which is fixed to the head main body and has a larger specific gravity than that of the head main body. The head main body is provided with a recess section 11 for fixing the weight member 9. The recess section 11 includes an opening recess section 12 which opens to the head external surface side and has a bottom section 15, and a threaded hole section 13 which has a smaller cross sectional area than that of the bottom section 15, extends to the head internal side from the bottom section 15, and has a thread groove in the inner peripheral surface. The weight member 9 is made of the metal material of which the specific gravity is 8.0 to 19.0, and also, includes a threaded shaft section 9b which is screwed with the threaded hole section 13, and a head section 9a which is arranged in the opening recess section 12 by having a larger cross sectional area than that of the threaded shaft section 9b.
