<p>The device (110) i.e. continuous dishwasher (112), has two cleaning zones (126) comprising a rinsing zone (131) and a clear-rinsing zone (149) that is downstream to the rinsing zone. The device comprises a heater (190) e.g. flow-type heater (166), to heat clear-rinsing fluid before pressurization of an item (120) to be cleaned by a heat exchanger (188) at temperature. The device cools the clear-rinsing fluid before pressurization of the item to be cleaned by using another heat exchanger (196) at another temperature. The clear-rinsing zone comprises a fresh water clear-rinser (162). An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning an item to be cleaned.</p>
