PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing herb extract is provided to ensure antioxidation and to suppress lipoxiganase activity and to treat and prevent allergy and atopic dermatitis. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains0.001-5 weight% of mixture extract of Coptis japonica, Phellodendron amurense root skin, Scutellaria baicalensis root, Polygonatum sibiricum root, and Astragalusoptis membranaceus. The mixture extract is isolated using water, alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, ethyl acetate, glycerin, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, or hydrate thereof. The cosmetic composition is manufactured in the form of skin softener, massage cream, nutrition serum, essence, or pack. The cosmetic composition is used for antioxidation or anti-inflammation.
