In a colour television tube of the shadow mask type the columns of holes in the shadow mask are at an angle of 80-85 degrees, preferably 83 degrees, to the line scanning direction to avoid the production of moire patterns if the tube is used for different line standards or if the scanning is non-linear. The electron gun or guns are also rotated so that they are aligned in the usual way with respect to the holes in the shadow mask.</p> |
