A METHOD FOR IMPROVED PROGRESSIVE PHOTON MAPPING USING PHOTON PROBING

PURPOSE: An improved progressive photon mapping method is provided to accurately filter an image as well as offering illuminating effect. CONSTITUTION: The location of an object surface for determining a pixel color is searched using a ray tracing method(S100). An initial radius of a sphere for finding an adjacent photon around the location of the surface is established(S200). The dispersion of the photons coming into each sphere is calculated, and the initial radius of the sphere is changed(S300). A photon tracing is performed by projecting a predetermined amount of photon from a light source(S400).
