PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for capturing markerless motion are provided to capture the motion of an operator without attaching a marker or sensor to a body of the operator. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for capturing markerless motion includes a motion trajectory information determination unit(210), a silhouette tracing unit(230) and a joint detection unit(250). The motion trajectory information determination unit determines the motion trajectory from an image by calculating the body information of an operator. The silhouette tracing unit traces the silhouette of the operator in the image. The joint detection unit detects the joints of the operators based on the motion trajectory and the silhouette.
