METHOD AND APPARATUS OF SETTING SLEEP CYCLE IN A WIRELESS SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A slip cycle set up method in a wireless communication system is provided to maintain sync of slip cycle between a base station and a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A listening window of a terminal of a slip mode, a base station transmits AAI_TRF-IND(Advanced Air Interface traffic indication) message to the terminal(S301). The base station assigns a source for transmitting DL(Downlink) traffic to the terminal(S302). The data station transmits the DL traffic to the terminal through the allocated resources(S303). If the ACK(Acknowledgement) about the DL traffic is received, the base station seta a slip cycle of the terminal as a initial slip cycle(S304,S305).
