The invention relates to a drill bit magazine, drill bit holder, and method for changing a drill bit in a rock drilling unit. The magazine (16) has several spaces (30), each arranged to receive one drill bit holder (22). The drill bit (12) is supported into the magazine by means of the drill bit holder. In addition, transfers between the magazine and retainer (14) take place by acting on the drill bit holder only. The drill bit holder is a projecting piece that is supported against at least one inside surface (41 ) of the drill bit.
