摘要 PURPOSE: A battery module with excellent structural stability is provided to maintain a laminated structure of unit modules having secondary batteries by forming an end plate in a specific structure for improving resistivity to stress and to minimize damage of curvature or connection part of the end plate. CONSTITUTION: A battery module with excellent structural stability is a large or medium battery module(100) having a structure in which secondary batteries or unit modules with built-in two or more secondary batteries are stacked in a vertical direction, wherein the battery module comprises: a base plate(20) on which unit modules(10) are stacked in a vertical direction such that the unit modules stand upright; a pair of end plates(30), each of which having a lower end fixed on the base plate and which tightly contacts the respective outer surfaces of the outermost unit modules; and supporting bars(40) which interconnect upper sides or lateral sides of the end plates so as to interconnect and support the end plates. To distribute the pressure(bending load) applied from the unit modules and the supporting bars, each of the end plates includes a main body which contacts the unit module, and an upper wall, a lower wall and a pair of side walls protrude outwardly from the outer periphery of the main body, wherein each of said side walls has a thickness increasing from the upper wall toward the lower wall.
