The present invention relates to a method of predicting toxicity of a candidate therapeutic agent and to a test kit for performing such a method. More particularly, a method of predicting toxicity of a candidate therapeutic agent comprising the steps of:- a. administering the candidate therapeutic agent to a cell; b. identifying the number of proteins that show change in the level of expression in the cell following step a); c. comparing the number of proteins identified in step b) with a known number of proteins that show a change in the level of expression in a second cell following administration of a reference therapeutic agent to the second cell; and d. predicting the toxicity of the candidate therapeutic agent based on the comparison made in step c). |
