PURPOSE: An automatic defibrillator and an operating method thereof are provided to adjust the volume of a guide voice according to the ambient noise. CONSTITUTION: An automatic defibrillator comprises: a body signal measurement part which measures a bio-signal of a man; a cardioverting analysis processing part performing cardioverting according to the result of the analyzed bio-signal; a communication unit transmitting the cardioverting information including the bio-signal; a voice guidance part(121) guiding a disposition step about a patient in a voice; a noise detecting part(123) detecting the ambient sound level; and a volume control part controlling the volume of the guide voice.
