PURPOSE: A magnetic vortex core for a recording multi-bit magnetic recording element and a switching method thereof are provided to easily switch the vertical magnetic direction and horizontal magnetic direction of the magnetic vortex core by applying at least one pulse current. CONSTITUTION: A lamination structure is prepared. The lamination structure comprises a magnetic film(410), a non-magnetic film(420), and deflection layer(430). The non-magnetic layer is formed on the magnetic film. A deflection layer is formed on the non-magnetic layer. At least one pulse type is applied. The current penetrates the lamination structure. The current converts the magnetization arrangement of the magnetic film.
