PURPOSE: Lightweight insulating mortar and a construction method using the same are provided to improve the thermal insulating property, the compressive intensity, and the water repellent property of the mortar by mixing a lightweight insulating mortar composition and a hardening composition. CONSTITUTION: Lightweight insulating mortar includes the 1:1-2:3 ratios of a lightweight insulating mortar composition and a hardening composition. The lightweight insulating mortar compositions includes 4-69 parts by weight of expanded foaming polystyrene, cement 40-260 parts by weight of cement, and at least one of 260-390 parts by weight of loess, 184-276 parts by weight of zeolite, 100-150 parts by weight of charcoal, 330-480 parts by weight of illite, 50-200 parts by weight of monazite, 210-270 parts by weight of elvan, 170-340 parts by weight of tourmaline, and 105-210 parts by weight of sericite. The hardening composition includes 142.8-166.6 parts by weight of water.
