MULTI LAYER OPTICAL DISC DEVICE

PURPOSE: A multi layer optical disk device is provided to effectively improve recording and reproducing speed by using a multi beam. CONSTITUTION: A first optical pickup(PU1) forms a beam spot on an inner area of an optical disk. A second optical pickup(PU2) forms the beam spot on an outer area of the optical disk. The first optical pickup and the second optical pickup are symmetrically arranged based on a spindle. The optical disk is a dual layer BD. An initial position of the second optical pickup is a location corresponding to an outer area of the dual layer BD.
