<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner container and an image forming apparatus, which are configured in such a manner that the toner container is mounted in the image forming apparatus body effectively ensuring a mounting space, is easily operated and set in the image forming apparatus body, and even if the toner container is configured so that toner contained in the toner container is discharged from a toner discharge opening by its own weight of the toner, the toner contained in the toner container is prevented from scattering outside when the toner container is mounted to or dismounted from the apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: A shutter member 34d includes a sealing member 36 on a face opposite the toner discharge opening W. In a cap part 34, an edge 34r projecting downward is formed in the periphery of the toner discharge opening W.
