<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin flat heat pipe with a high maximum heat transport amount and enhanced performance suited to cooling of a heating part with high heating density. <P>SOLUTION: The flat heat pipe includes a sealed flat container, a wick disposed in the container and comprising a bent or lapped laminated mesh, and a working liquid enclosed in the container. An upper part and a lower part of the wick is held and fixed by an upper side inner wall and a lower side inner wall of the container.
