<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology allowing rapid failure cause decision processing by allowing prediction of whether it is in a state of being likely to cause a problem in the future even if events causing failure do not completely accord with each other and performing analysis in consideration of temporal correlation of occurrence of the respective events. <P>SOLUTION: In this failure cause analysis system, a failure cause decision rule is generated based on a failure cause decision rule definition template, and a failure cause is decided by use of a peculiar accordance situation cache and accordance situation matrix. At that time, a concept of correlation time is introduced, and related events are set as analysis targets from all the events to reduce the analysis targets.
