LIGHT DIFFUSION PLATE AND DIRECT POINT-LIKE LIGHT SOURCE BACKLIGHT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffusion plate having both of excellent brightness and brightness uniformity in a backlight which has a desired thickness and in which the small number of point-like light sources difficult to have been achieved by a conventional technique are arranged; and also to provide a backlight device using the diffusion plate.

SOLUTION: The light diffusion plate for point-like light source has a plurality of recessed parts on the surface. The recessed part has a nearly inverted polygonal pyramid or inverted truncated polygonal pyramid shape and at least one inner side surface of the recessed part has a curved surface having the center of curvature positioned in the depth direction side of the recessed part in the opening edge part.
