<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable composition, which contains a vinyl polymer having a functional group at a molecular end, has a narrow dispersion degree, and gives a cured product excellent in strength and elasticity. <P>SOLUTION: The curable composition contains a vinyl polymer having a functional group at a molecular end. The vinyl polymer is obtained through a step of subjecting vinyl monomers to living radical polymerization in the presence of a catalyst, which comprises a compound containing a central atom consisting of at least one element selected from phosphorus, nitrogen, carbon, oxygen, germanium, tin, and antimony, and a halogen atom bonded to the center atom, and also in the presence of an initiator comprising an organic halogen compound, so as to obtain a first polymer having a halogen atom derived from the catalyst or the initiator at a molecular end; and then a step of modifying the molecular end of the first polymer so as to substitute the halogen atom included in the first polymer by the functional group.
