PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manage an overall access right of an organization even if there is reorganization or personnel change, without using a directory service. SOLUTION: The access right management device specifies whether a subject having made an access request is located in a higher, the same, or a lower position, on the basis of a subject that owns an object having received the access request from the subject. The access right corresponding to the higher, same or lower position is added to the subject having made the access request, based on access right information wherein the subject represented by an abstract concept, i.e., the higher, same or lower position, and the access right to the object of the subject are associated. Only by defining hierarchical structure information, ownership information, and the access right information, the access right to the object related to the subjects positioned in the higher, same or lower position, on the basis of the subject that owns the object, is controlled.
