<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering device capable of reducing an arrangement space below an instrument panel by shortening the length of the power steering device in order to have a low center of gravity and stabilize a hull. <P>SOLUTION: In a steering hydraulic pressure generation unit 6, an electric assist device 26 and a helm pump 27 which is a swash plate type axial piston pump are arranged in parallel on a common base 28, and the electric assist device 26 and the helm pump 27 are connected and integrated by a transmission mechanism 34 below the common base 28. The electric assist device 26 is allowed to support an instrument panel. By the parallel arrangement, the length of the steering hydraulic pressure generation unit 6 as the power steering device can be shortened, and as a result, the distance between the instrument panel and the bottom of a ship is reduced, and the position of a handle is lowered, and also the position of a driver's seat can be lowered, so that the low center of gravity is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
