PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting method of a surface-treated steel sheet, which detects mixture of a surface-treated steel sheet determined to be defective by a quality determination device, into a nondefective product piler by a failure or malfunction of a sorter. SOLUTION: In this sorting method of the surface-treated steel sheet, it is determined whether a surface-treated steel sheet SP determined to be defective by the quality determination device 18 is mixed into the nondefective product piler 20 by a failure or malfunction of the sorter 19, by collating a sorting result of the sorter 19 for sorting each surface-treated steel sheet SP into the nondefective product piler 20 and a defective product piler 21, with a determination result of the quality determination device 18, based on the determination result of the quality determination device 18 for determining the quality of the surface-treated steel sheet SP acquired by shearing a steel strip S so as to have a prescribed length.
