<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-rise warehouse and a technique for warehousing, which relaxes conditions when designing an elevation mechanism such as a stacker crane by aiming at a heavy cargo and handling both of light and heavy cargoes without requiring addition of excessive devices and equipment, etc. therefor. <P>SOLUTION: When the cargo mounted on a carriage for transfer at a warehousing port 21a is heavy, the cargo is stored in an object shelf 25 of a storage shelf 21 of the first step by conveyance as a carriage operating a travel device and the carriage for transfer.
