摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply synthesize olivine-type M lithium silicate of microscopic particles useful as a cathode active material for a secondary battery, and to improve the performance of a lithium ion secondary cell. SOLUTION: A method of synthesizing olivine-type M lithium silicate (M is a metallic element) used as a cathode material of a lithium ion secondary cell includes a kneading and drying step of wet kneading colloidal silica as a silicate source, a lithium source, and a metal element M source, kneading the resultant kneaded material, and at the same time, drying it; and a thermal processing step of thermally processing a mixed and dried material obtained after the drying under a predetermined atmosphere that should reduce the metallic element M.
