PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method which determines a regular reflecting area which is observed in an image and is regarded as a problem when measuring the three-dimensional shape of a shiny object. SOLUTION: The image processing method includes a first detection process for extracting a target area indicating a brightness threshold, corresponding to a regular reflection area in two-dimensional image data obtained by photographing an object Q by a control unit 11 and a second detection process for extracting the threshold corresponding to the regular reflection area, in a comparative two-dimensional image data photographed with the object illuminated with an exposure time, obtained by reducing the initial exposure time of illumination units F1, F2 by a predetermined rate, when the target area is detected in the first detection process. When the threshold corresponding to the regular reflection area is not detected in the comparison two-dimensional image data, and when the exposure time is shorter than 1/2, a regular reflection area determining unit 13 determines the target area of the comparison two-dimensional image data to be a regular reflecting area, thereby enabling a regular reflecting area within two-dimensional image data to be precisely extracted.
