PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery equipped with an electrode having stability which does not elute into an electrolyte, while retaining affinity with the electrolyte, and which can be manufactured at low cost and in an efficient manner. SOLUTION: The secondary battery is equipped with an electrode containing a polyradical compound as an electrode active material, and the polyradical compound is obtained, by making the essential elements of a compound (A) containing a hydrogen atom having a radical part and active with respect to a Michael addition reaction, a compound (B) containing an active unsaturated group, and a catalyst (C) that accelerates the Michael addition reaction, to make them react with one another.
