PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving separating performance by narrowing the space between a plurality of separation pieces provided on an inclined member. SOLUTION: This sheet carrying device includes the inclined member 24 arranged on the downstream side in the recording sheet feeding direction 104 of a feeding cassette 20 and having an inclined face 26 inclined to the upper face of a bottom plate 21, and the plurality of separation pieces 51 integrally provided on the inclined member 24 and each having a front end 52 protruded from the inclined face 26 to the side of the bottom plate 21 extending to the downstream side in the feeding direction 104 beyond a base end 53. The front end 52 of the separation piece 51 extends to the downstream side in the feeding direction 104 beyond the base end 53 of another separation piece 51 existing on the downstream side in the feeding direction 104.
