PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for forming a high-quality image while simplifying the manufacturing process and reducing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This carrier 2 is a carrier 2 for a two-component developer. The carrier 2 includes a carrier core material 2a having a volume average particle diameter of 25μm or larger and 50μm or smaller and a coating 2b that contains silicone resin having the average molecular weight of 5,000 or smaller as the principal component and covers the carrier core material 2a.
