PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the boundary (level difference) of CT values in a joint region in connecting a plurality of volume data in the direction perpendicular to a slice surface. SOLUTION: The X-ray computed tomography apparatus includes a reconstruction processing part for reconstructing first and second volume data including an overlap region based on the output of an area detector for detecting X rays; an extraction part for extracting a plurality of first and second slice images within or in the vicinity of the overlap region from the first and second volume data; a calculating part for calculating an added value in each pixel line along the vertical direction in the slice image or the difference value from an average value, or an absolute value of the difference value; a determining part for determining whether the difference value or absolute value of the difference value is within a prescribed range or not; and a combining part for combining the first and second volume data by selecting a pixel value within the overlap region from the value of one of the pixel values of the first and second volume data or from the value extracted from pixel values of the first and second volume data based on the result of determination.
