The invention relates to an apparatus for machining a single ball, comprising: a transfer unit which is arranged on a base so as to be movable in an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction, and which has a pair of transfer plates which are slidable in an X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction; first and second chuck units which face each other at the respective transfer plates of the transfer unit in the X-axis direction, and which have first and second housings arranged on the respective transfer plates, and first and second spindles rotatably arranged in the respective first and second housings, wherein the first and second spindles have wedge-shaped front ends to be inserted into holes of the single ball; third and fourth chuck units which face each other at the respective transfer plates of the transfer unit in the Y-axis direction, and which have third and fourth housings arranged on the respective transfer plates, and third and fourth spindles rotatably arranged in the respective third and fourth housings, wherein the third and fourth spindles have recessed front ends to friction-contact the surface of the single ball and to fix the single ball; a head unit which is movably arranged on the base, and which contacts the surface of the single ball supported by the chuck units to form engraved patterns on the surface of the single ball; a single ball feeding unit which feeds the single ball to a position for machining; and a control unit. |
