MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR POLYIMIDE FILM AND TENTER DEVICE

Disclosed is a manufacturing method for the efficient manufacturing of high quality polyimide film, even in high temperature environments, by using an improved tenter device. While a self-supporting film (F) is held at both edges in the width direction and conveyed by a tenter device, heat is applied to manufacture polyimide film. The tenter device (1) is supplied with guide members (41) disposed on both sides of a self-supporting film conveyor path, and a pair of tenter chains (5) which move along the guide members (41) and which have film retention structures for holding the edges of the self-supporting film. In order to support the movement of the tenter chains, said tenter chains have rotating bodies rotatably supported around shaft members, said members extending perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the guide members (41) and parallel to the conveying surface of the self-supporting film; and the shaft members are fixed either directly or indirectly to the same members as the film retention structures.
