The invention relates to a method and a device for applying a sealing profiled element (1) to a component, especially the periphery (2) of an opening edge (3) of a motor vehicle, e.g. a door, by rolling it thereon. According to the invention, the component (3) is displaced in relation to a rolling unit (5) that presses the sealing profiled element (1) provided with adhesive against the periphery (2) of the component (3). In order to guide and compress the sealing profiled element (1), lateral edges (10a, 10b) in the form of driven or non-driven disks are provided on the area of application (A), with a compression roller (11) arranged in-between. Said compression roller (11) can be displaced in relation to the edges (10a, 10b), from an inactive position to an active position, in the direction of the area of application (A) and vice versa. The autonomy of the guiding and compression means (10a, 10b, 11) ensures that the sealing profiled element (1) can be pressed against the area of application (A) in a precisely positioned manner and with the optimum contact pressure. |
