PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform digital watermark detection, in real time, from a photographed motion picture.

SOLUTION: A digital watermark padding method includes steps of: inputting moving image data constituted of a frame image group, watermark information and watermark pattern-switching information of term information designating phase variation of a watermark pattern; sequentially acquiring each frame image of the moving image data and a frame display time, that is, a display time of the frame image; creating the watermark pattern by using watermark information, the frame display time and the watermark pattern-switching information; superimposing the watermark pattern onto the frame image; and combining watermark embedded frame images obtained by sequentially repeating the superimposing step to generate watermark-embedded moving image data.
