<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise reader and a merchandise reading program, for facilitating identifying causal merchandise that has failed during batch reading of RFID tags. <P>SOLUTION: The merchandise information reader 10 acquires a scan code from the merchandise having an RFID tag (radio tag), and a merchandise information acquisition means 12 searches for a merchandise information file associating a merchandise code with the merchandise information based on the scan code. A merchandise position associating means 13 creates information for determining the location of the merchandise when the scan code is obtained. A merchandise information acquisition determining means 14 determines whether the merchandise has been registered in the merchandise information file or not.
