PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide very simple arrangements of a nuclear reactor and peripheral devices thereof, which can be maintained/repaired with ease. SOLUTION: The nuclear reactor includes a primary cooling material outlet pipe 10 leading a primary cooling material passing through a reactor vessel 1 to a heat exchanger, and a primary cooling material inlet pipe 15 leading the primary cooling material flowing out from the heat exchanger. The inlet pipe is disposed penetrating a horizontal partition plate 17 installed on the outer circumference of a reactor core in the reactor vessel. An electromagnetic primary cooling material circulation pump 8 disposed penetrating the horizontal partition plate has an annular flow path 20 sucking a liquid metal upwardly at the lower part of the body and is connected to a communication pipe 9 communicating with the reactor core side from a circular discharge pipe 22 at the lowest part disposed in the center of the body of the electromagnetic primary cooling material circulation pump.
