PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the reliability of an inverter logic unit to prevent an accident as an examples of past railway accidents: a logic unit of an inverter cannot receive a deceleration command due to malfunction of the logic unit and maintains a previously received acceleration command; the inverter maintains acceleration, while the train is attempting to decelerate, and as a result, desired deceleration cannot be obtained, leading to an accident. SOLUTION: An inverter monitoring apparatus is installed independently of an inverter; and when malfunction of the inverter is detected, a high-speed circuit breaker, or the like, is activated to disconnect a main circuit to forcibly stop the operation of the inverter or reset the logic unit of the inverter or carry out processings such as resetting.
