CLIP FOR OPTICAL CONNECTOR, CONNECTOR COUPLING BODY WITH REINFORCEMENT CLIP AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop technique for securing a desired butting force in a pair of MT (Mechanically transferable) optical connectors without replacing a broken clip, and without almost (or entirely) moving a connecting part connecting the optical fibers to each other using the MT optical connector. SOLUTION: A clip 10 for an optical connector is constructed like a frame by connecting a pair of elongated elastic plates 11 formed substantially like an arch using a pair of connecting plate parts 12. With a pair of MT connectors 2 kept in the butting state by an MT clip 3 stored in an inside space 10S, the pair of connecting plate parts 12 press rear end faces 2b of the pair of MT connectors 2 with elasticity of the pair of elastic plate 11, thereby applying butting force to the pair of MT connectors 2. A connector coupling body is fitted with a reinforcement clip using the clip 10 as a reinforcing material for making good the butting force.
