PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus without having direct contact with an operation unit. SOLUTION: A plurality of noncontact sensors 50 are arranged in the circumference of a monitor 30 for displaying an ultrasonic image, thereby performing the control of various kinds of functions, based on detection information of the noncontact sensor selected by an operator in the ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus. An operation guide is displayed on a screen 31 of the monitor 30, so as to correspond to the positions of the noncontact sensors. Consequently, the various kinds of operations are performed in the ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus without allowing a hand or finger to have contact with an operation panel unit 40, etc. Thus, the operation panel unit, etc., is prevented from being soiled by the body fluid, etc., of a subject, which is attached to the hand or finger of the operator. Besides, time and labor required for cleaning, sanitizing, or sterilizing, etc., the ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus after usage are saved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
