<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage of an absorbing surface, heighten the absorptivity to a high-viscosity body fluid, and prevent leakage of a liquid in an absorptive article having a groove in a predetermined region of a surface sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A compressed portion 50 in which an absorber 30 is pressed by squeezing is formed on the absorbent article. The compressed portion 50 includes: a surface groove 51 formed on the skin contact surface side and a back groove formed on the clothing contact surface side. Although the bottom of the surface groove 51 is smooth, recessed portions 54A, 54B are formed at the bottom 52B of the back groove by squeezing, thereby forming a compression part DL increased in density more than in an uncompressed portion and high compression parts DH further increased in density of the absorber 30 more than that of the compression part at the bottom.
