<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit for a projector which os configured so that even if the lamp unit is used after changing the installed state of the projector, a lighting time for a lamp required to inform a user of the correct timing of lamp replacement is stored, and to provide the projector that informs the user of the correct timing of the lamp replacement. <P>SOLUTION: The projector 1 for modulating luminous flux emitted from the lamp 41 and enlarging and projecting the luminous flux includes installed-state detecting sections 51, 53, and 55 for detecting installed states of the projector 1; a lighting-time measuring section 101 for integrating lighting times of the installed lamp 41 for each installed state; and a storage section 46 for storing integrated values of the lighting times for each installed state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
