摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake ensuring a good mechanical efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The disc brake includes a rotation regulating mechanism 34A having: a plurality of ratchet teeth 43C integrally formed on a second reducing gear 43; a lever 54 regulating the rotation of the second reducing gear 43 in engagement with the ratchet teeth 43C; and a guide 80. The guide 80 (lever member) moves from a first position to a second position so as to take a latch release position, when a first reducing gear 60 (a rotating member) rotates in the direction for releasing the thrust of a piston 12, and moves from the second position to the first position so as to take a latch position, when the first reducing gear 60 rotates in the direction for thrusting the piston 12. Since the rotation regulating mechanism 34A with such configuration self-holds a brake force for achieving a parking brake function, the mechanical efficiency is enhanced compared to that in the case when a worm gear reducer adopted in a conventional technique self-holds the brake force, which leads to energy-saving. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p>
