摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ophthalmic composition enhanced with a cooling action at the applied site inhibiting an initial irritability when applied. SOLUTION: The ophthalmic composition with excellent sensory characteristics can be prepared by combining (A) a monocyclic monoterpenoid and (B) a monoterpene alcohol in ranges of 1 pt.wt. of (A) and 0.01-2,000 pts.wt. of (B) and lowering the surface temperature at the applied site to give enhanced cooling action maintaining the cooling effect and meanwhile inhibiting the initial irritability when applied.
