PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule film which does not require release processing on a film support when applying a microcapsule layer of a microcapsule type electrophoretic display panel and does not require an adhesive layer when bonding a film-like material having the microcapsule layer to a color filter or the like, a forming method thereof, and a microcapsule type electrophoretic display panel and a display device which use the microcapsule film. SOLUTION: The microcapsule film where microcapsules in which positively charged electrophoretic particles of a first color and negatively charged electrophoretic particles of a second color are enclosed in a liquid dispersion medium are dispersed includes a sufficient amount of a binder since a layer having the microcapsules dispersed therein is formed like a film. A microcapsule-containing coating liquid is applied to a continuously carried long-sized film-like support to form a microcapsule dispersion layer, and then the layer is released to form the microcapsule film.
