<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a silicon carbide formed article having any shapes, having high heat resistance and high strength. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a silicon carbide formed article includes steps of: (1) subjecting a prepreg sheet, which contains a silicon carbide powder and silicon carbide fibers and is applied on a graphite mold, to a hot isostatic pressing (HIP) process; and (2) heat treating the obtained HIP processed material in an atmosphere containing oxygen and at a temperature of 400°C or higher and lower than 1,300°C to remove the graphite mold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
