<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a multi-phase rotating machine that prevents a reduction of output when a failure occurs in a switching means as much as possible, and continuing driving of a rotating machine. <P>SOLUTION: When an off-failure occurs to make a MOS 24 non-conductive, a failure identifying means identifies a switching element pair 27 where the off failure occurs. A failure control means controls switching element pairs 28 and 29 based on a failure phase current command value calculated as a function of a rotation position θ and a q-axis current command value Iq<SP>*</SP>1, in a first inverter part 20 including the switching element pair 27 specified by the failure specifying means. The failure control means controls a second inverter part 30 in the same way as normal operation. A motor 10 can be continuously driven while a reduction in torque is suppressed as much as possible even if the failure occurs in the MOS 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
