POWER CONVERSION APPARATUS, ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE USING THE SAME, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SEMICONDUCTOR POWER MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor power module that suppresses extension thereof in planar and height directions.

SOLUTION: A power conversion apparatus includes: a heat sink; a conductor member disposed on one side of a main surface of the heat sink through an insulating layer; a semiconductor element disposed on the conductor member; connecting conductors 61, 62, 63 which are electrically connected to the semiconductor element; a case 40 which is disposed on one side of the main surface of the heat sink and provided with an aperture in upper and lower surfaces so as to enclose the semiconductor element; and a positioning part 42 which slidably supports a connecting conductor in a direction vertical to a main surface of the semiconductor element and which is fixed on the case. Further, the power conversion apparatus includes: an element side bonding surface for connection through the semiconductor element and metal bonding material on an end of the connecting conductor; and connections connected to a connected member on the other end of the connecting conductor after the power conversion apparatus is positioned to the connected member.
